Destination Weddings

Many couples choose to have a destination wedding so they can skip all of the fuss and planning of a traditional wedding and have their honeymoon immediately! It can also help with couples who dont have a big budget to work with. Many couples on their second marriage choose to have destination weddings they can also bring their children along with them. Some couples re-visit their destination wedding spot on their anniversaries.

If the couple really wants lots of friends and family there with them, they should reconsider because coordinating everyones schedules can be an even bigger task than planning a traditional wedding.

Some hotels and resorts have destination wedding packages which can include music, the marriage license, wedding officiate, flowers, catering, wedding cake, photos, rehearsal dinner and reception. In the Bahamas, some couples can get all of this within twenty-four hours notice!

Many couples choose to take a cruise for their destination wedding they can either get married on the ship or on one of the islands visited during the cruise.

Be sure to check the wedding regulations of your chosen destination before you go. This can include: blood tests, medical tests, special documents, residency requirements, waiting periods, etc. Also check the typical weather for the time of year for your destination.
